Watch the First Trailer for the ‘Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men’ Docu-Series

Showtime has released the first trailer for the forthcoming four-part docu-series Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men.  The first two episodes are set to premiere at Sundance, and the entire documentary from filmmaker Sacha Jenkins (BURN MOTHERF*CKER, BURN!) is slated to air on Showtime on Monday, January 28.

According to Showtime Documentary Films, Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men “transcends the music documentary genre by creating a new lane that merges music, socio-cultural commentary and intimate family portrait.” The series features never-before-seen interviews with Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, and Method Man.

The trailer includes footage from Wu Tang’s native Staten Island, archival footage of the members’ childhoods, documentation of their rise to fame, concert footage, and interviews with rap luminaries and media figures, including Nas and Charlemagne Da God.

The paragons of hip hop are currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of their landmark debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Wu-Tang’s “36 Chambers” shows hit New York City this weekend, just in time for the docu-series’ release.
